SKILLS CLINIC PROGRAM The skills clinic program is a year-a-round program designed for those players looking to experience soccer at a competitive level and improve team and individual skills through small sided games. The program will focus on player development and the proper technique to play the game. The program will encourage players to learn new skills, all drills will be demonstrated. The program operates during three periods: Winter, Spring and Summer. The development program is open to all players that are interested in becoming better soccer players. (U9-U13 Rec. and/or classic – Boys and Girls) PHILOSOPHIES The objectives of the program are: Developed individual soccer skills based on individual capabilities. Allow players to be exposed to top level coaching. Create love and passion to play the game as it should be played and promote fun learning experience of playing the game. Introduce the players to training systems that are dedicated to creating solid technical base skills that will put our players at advantage during competitive play. Quality training is the number one goal dedicated to life long learning experience, and playing the game at any current or future level Curriculum The skills program is designed to develop and give the kids the opportunity to pick up the game at a pace that suites the individual players. Practice sessions are designed for players’ comfort level and not pushed in a way that will discourage players’ participation. The program is 8 weeks long and will cover: Passing Receiving Trapping Dribbling Player’s movement with/without the ball Decision making under pressure And many more aspect of the game Such as defending and attacking. Three Clinic Schedules Winter clinic-Eight weekly one hour clinics Spring clinic-Eight weekly one hour clinics Summer clinic-Eight weekly one hour clinics Clinic Coaches: Kelly Hyde (Varsity Coach Milwaukie High School) Kelly Played four years at Woodburn High School, where she earned a soccer scholarship to play at Humboldt State University which is a division 2 school. She played there for four years, and now is the varsity girls coach at Milwaukie High School. Tony Gonzalez (Former Varsity Coach Canby High School) Tony has been coaching soccer in and around the Canby area for over 16 years he holds an Oregon F, E ,D and a NATIONAL Youth License. He was the head coach at Canby High School for 4 years and was voted the 6A Pacific Conference Coach of The Year for the 2008-2009 season. He is currently the Head Club Coach for Canby United Ivan Munoz (Goalie coach Chemeketa Community college) Ivan has been coaching soccer in and around the Canby area for over 7 years he holds an Oregon E License. He has coached at multiple high schools including North Marion, Sandy, Estacada and Valley Catholic. Currently he is the assistant coach and goalie coach for Chemeketa Community College. Brandon Porter (College player and Classic coach) Brandon currently attends Pacific university where he plays soccer for the Boxers. He has several years coaching experience and is currently coaches for Willamette United. Brandon holds a D license and is a former graduate of Canby High School. Mark Madeira (Canby High Boys Varsity Coach) Mark is the Canby High School Boys Varsity coach. He attended Pacific university where he played soccer for the Boxers. He has several years coaching experience and is a former graduate of Canby High School. All Coaches will have Varsity Canby High School Players assisting them. |
