SKILLS CLINIC PROGRAM

The skills clinic program is a year-a-round program designed for those players looking to experience soccer at a competitive level and improve team and individual skills.

Summer (June, July, August)
Fall (September, October, November)
Winter (January, February, Mid-March)
Spring (Mid-March, April, Mid-May)

The development program is open to all U10 - U14 Boys and Girls that are interested in becoming better players.

PHILOSOPHIES
The objectives of the development program are:

• Developed individual soccer skills based on individual capabilities.
• Allow players to be exposed to top level coaching.
• Create love and passion to play the game as it should be played and promote fun learning experience of playing the game.
• Introduce the players to training systems that are dedicated to creating solid technical base skills that will put our players at advantage during competitive play.
• Quality training is the number one goal dedicated to life long learning experience, and playing the game at any current or future level

Canby United will offer two different clinics this Spring - a skills clinic and a goalie clinic.

Curriculum
The development program is designed to develop and give the kids the opportunity to pick up the game at a pace that suites the individual players. Practice sessions are designed for players’ comfort level and not pushed in a way that will discourage players’ participation.

The program is 8 weeks long and will cover:

• Passing
• Receiving
• Trapping
• Dribbling
• Players movement with/without the ball
• Decision making under pressure

And many more aspect of the game - such as defending and attacking.

Weekly regular one hour clinic per day for a total of 10 weeks.
The program will focus on player development and the proper technique to play the game. 
The program will encourage players to learn new skills, all drills will be demonstrated.

Program Schedule

Spring- Registration
Schedule - Tuesdays starting April 13th to June 1st from 6:00 - 7:00pm (Weekly one hour clinic)
All Weekly one hour clinics will be held at Baker Prairie Middle School.

Please bring tennis shoes and cleats.

Clinic Coaches:

Kelly Hyde (Varsity Coach Milwaukie High School) Winter Clinic
Kelly played for four years at Woodburn High School, where she earned a soccer scholarship to play at Humboldt State University which is a division 2 school. She played there for four years, and now is the varsity girls coach at Milwaukie High School.

Tony Gonzalez (Former Varsity Coach Canby High School) Spring Clinic
Tony has been coaching soccer in and around the Canby area for over 13 years and holds the Oregon F, E ,D and NATIONAL Youth Licenses. He has been the head coach at Canby High School for the past 4 years and was voted the 6A Pacific Conference Coach of The Year for the 2008-2009 season.

Ivan Munoz (Goalie coach Chemeketa Community college) Goalie Clinic
Ivan has been coaching soccer in and around the Canby area for over 7 years and holds an Oregon E License. He has coached at multiple high schools including North Marion, Sandy, Estacada and Valley Catholic. Currently he is the assistant coach and goalie coach for Chemeketa Community College.

Brandon Porter (College player and Classic coach) Summer Clinic
Brandon currently attends Pacific university where he plays soccer for the Boxers. He has several years coaching experience and is currently coaches for Willamette United. Brandon holds a D license and is a former graduate of Canby High School.

All Coaches will have Varsity Canby High School Players assisting them.
